Umanishish – moose fetus in Innu language – explores the unknown time preceding birth. Alone on stage, performer Soleil Launière shows the audience what links them to the land. To reach this sacred space, they dive into the virtual set design created by artists Gonzalo Soldi and Antonin Gougeon-Moisan (mirari). Cameras capture the artist’s movements which are then projected behind them, creating living illustrations that surround the artist and invites the audience to join in. This blend of the organic and the digital worlds results in a highly poetic and spiritual space, sending the audience straight into an unreachable one.
